Webinars

Webinars are a great opportunity to network and take in educational events without making a day long commitment outside your everyday work schedules. They allow our members outside a physical branch to get involved and accumulate education points towards their CFE designation. Look for future announcements on upcoming webinars and take advantage of one of your many benefits of being a CAFP member. The Members-At-Large (MAL) branch would like to thank Vitality Foodservice Canada Inc., for sponsoring our online educational events.

William Chan, MAL President

The MAL (Members-at-Large) branch will be is hosting the second Webinar event of the 2009-2010 National Professional Development program. Webinar events are part of the Professional Development Program because of the number of industry professionals living outside of major centers, where CAFP branches are located. This event will allow these members and regular branch members to gain education for their professional development and accumulate CFE education points.

The topic for the Webinar session is part of the 2009-2010 theme of Back to Basics, and will be presented by one of the speakers from the program. Click here for further details.

Our first education webinar education session for the 2009 – 2010 “Back to Basics” theme held on September 8th, 2009 brought members together from coast to coast, totaling 59 attendees for the online event. CAFP, in partnership with Vitality Foodservice Canada Inc., branch sponsor of the MAL (Members-at-Large) was the first to present in this year’s webinar session. Jenny Doan, Director of Marketing for Vitality Foodservice Canada presented on “The Basics of Beverage in Foodservice”. This covered many interesting areas that included where our beverages come from including juice, coffee and tea. Jenny discussed the current trends including the impact of the downturn in the economy and decreased consumer spending. The trends were informative and engaging as we start to apply this knowledge into our daily operations. The same can be said on the information presented on going green with concentrated beverages.
